Chicago's Martin Partners LLC has landed a plum headhunting assignment: recruiting the first CEO for Nasdaq Europe, sources say. The London-based post is a tad more prominent than the technology company placements typically handled by the search firm. Indeed, former Chicago Board of Trade Chairman David Brennan is said to have opened doors for Ted Martin, the firm's founder, with a well-placed call to senior Nasdaq Stock Market executives in New York.
Nasdaq officials seek a CEO who will make a splash on the other side of the pond, amid tough competition from other stock exchanges and investment banks.
