Bank One cuts jobs in Chicago.(Briefs)(Brief Article)

Bank One Corp. said it told 200 employees in the debt capital markets and commercial banking units that their jobs will be cut as part of a planned $57-billion merger with New York's J. P. Morgan Chase & Co. Most of the workers are in Chicago, 180 of them in capital markets and 20 in commercial banking, a spokesman said.

Separately, the Chicago-based bank and J. P. Morgan announced the 16 people they plan to name to the board when the banks merge later this year. The eight directors from Bank One include Chairman and CEO James Dimon and James S. Crown, president of Chicago-based Henry Crown & Co.
