ARNDORFER Crain News Service OfficeMax is trying to turn its "Rubberband Man'' character-the Afro-sporting office-supply guy who tosses toner and towels to co-workers while dancing to the tune of the 1970s Spinners hit that gave him his name-into a brand icon. The retailer of office supplies is establishing a Web site that includes outtakes from the television commercial and downloadable images, and is considering adding video games and downloadable cell phone ring tones of the song.
