Byline: BRETT CHASE In the past year, Ronald G. Eidell beat cancer, survived a boardroom brawl at NeoPharm Inc. and emerged as the biotech company's interim CEO. Now Mr. Eidell wants to be permanent chief executive of the 15-year-old Lake Forest company and lead it through a crucial period.
After his own short battle with prostate cancer-it was detected early, he says-Mr. Eidell is determined to get NeoPharm's brain cancer treatment approved for sale. Mr. Eidell's brush with cancer changes his view of the mission at NeoPharm. "It raises this thing to a level of importance that's much greater than just being a CEO of a company.''
