A. T. Kearney officers will decide in the next month whether to participate in a management buyout of the consultancy. Kearney and parent EDS agreed last week to sell the firm to its officers (ChicagoBusiness.com, Aug. 24). A total sale price was not disclosed. The proposed 2006 city budget calls for no property tax increase, due in part to a rebounding city economy, management efficiencies and another cash transfer from the Skyway lease.
Mayor Daley said "the only'' fee or tax hike in his new budget would be a 20-cent hike on a pack of cigarettes. Motorola agreed to settle a non-compete lawsuit with its former president.
