Kerasotes in running to buy 2 city cinemas Kerasotes ShowPlace Theatres has emerged as leading bidder for two North Side cinemas that AMC Entertainment is selling as part of a deal with the Justice Department. Chicago-based Kerasotes is in talks to buy Webster Place 11 at 1471 W. Webster and City North 14 at 2600 N.

Western, say people familiar with the situation. Kansas City, Mo.-based AMC acquired Loews Cineplex Entertainment Corp. of New York last month and is divesting the theaters in Chicago and other cities to satisfy antitrust concerns.
