Several Chicago-area business schools are looking to cash in on the trend by expanding the scope of their risk-management programs to meet the growing need of publicly traded companies to measure and monitor risk.
The definition of risk is growing, too. Instead of focusing exclusively on financial risk, as most universities have done in the past, Loyola University Chicago's School of Business Administration, the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and DePaul University's Kellstadt Graduate School of Business are devising new classes that teach students to identify threats to reputation, strategy and technology systems.
