Ford named Alan Mulally president and CEO, and said Bill Ford will remain executive chairman. Mr. Mulally was most recently executive vice-president at Boeing. Meanwhile, Boeing named Scott Carson CEO of its commercial airplane unit and James Jamieson the unit's COO. Illinois Tool Works agreed to acquire supply chain management software maker Click Commerce for $292 million.
Illinois Tool Works has offered to buy the outstanding shares for $22.75 each. Democratic Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. announced he is exploring a run for mayor of Chicago, saying "it's more likely than not'' that he will enter the contest.
