That doesn't even include Moto's $3.9-billion takeover of Symbol Technologies Inc., a deal expected to close later this year.
Kelly Mark makes sure that vital components aren't lost or destroyed as the acquisitions are absorbed by Motorola-things like customers, new products and technology. He and the team of 25 to 30 he leads on each deal also have the delicate tasks of weeding out unneeded components and defusing labor issues, especially sensitive when trimming workforces of overseas acquisitions.
