Byline: Mary Cameron Frey Paws (Pets Are Worth Saving) Chicago, a non-profit organization, was founded in 1997 and is the largest no-kill shelter and humane organization in the Chicago area. In 1998, the group opened the Paws Lincoln Park Cat Adoption Center, followed in 2000 by the Lurie Family Spay/Neuter Clinic on West 26th Street.
