Crain's Chicago Business has promoted two staff members to senior reporter. Steve Daniels, 42, covers banking, insurance and utilities. Since March 1999 he's delivered breaking news and analysis on subjects ranging from Illinois' pending electricity rate increases to shareholder questions about the sale of Bank One Corp.
to J. P. Morgan Chase & Co. Along the way, he's profiled key players, including LaSalle Bank Corp. CEO Norman Bobins, Aon Corp. Executive Chairman Patrick G. Ryan and Allstate Corp. CEO Edward M.
