USG'S PIED PIPER; Investors following Buffett even as housing outlook sours.(Markets)

Byline: BOB TITA George Silva has been investing in stocks for about 15 years. But he didn't pay any attention to USG Corp. until last year, when he read that Warren Buffett was helping the building-supplies company exit bankruptcy. He bought 75 USG shares in August, concluding that if Mr.
Buffett has confidence in the Chicago-based maker of Sheetrock drywall, then the slumping housing market probably will turn around soon. "Seeing Warren Buffett's involvement in the stock was the trigger to take a closer look at it. Warren's a big influence on my investment style,'' says Mr. Silva, a Virginia resident who has followed Mr. Buffett's moves for a decade and runs a Web site for like-minded investors.
