Activist investor Carl Icahn said he would likely seek the resignation of Motorola CEO Edward Zander if he fails to turn the electronics company around this year. The billionaire investor is waging a heated proxy battle to win a seat on the Motorola board at Monday's annual meeting. Pledging to make performance for customers "my top priority,'' veteran city official Ron Huberman took over as president of the Chicago Transit Authority.

Mr. Huberman, 35, was chief of staff to Mayor Daley. Illinois lawmakers have voted to ban smoking in bars, restaurants and other public workplaces. The legislation goes to Gov.
