NAVIGATOR IS SURVIVING ROUGH SEAS: EXPLORER NO KNOCKOUT SUCCESS.

When Eric Goldberg fires up his computer at his office in Silicon Alley each morning, he also fires up not one but two World Wide Web browsers -- Microsoft's Internet Explorer and Netscape's Navigator. It is not so much an indulgence as a necessity. "Slowly but surely, more things are being done with Internet Explorer," says Mr.

Goldberg, president of computer game maker Crossover Technologies. "But the demise of Netscape has been greatly exaggerated." For now anyway, the world remains big enough for both browsers. Indeed, though a recent survey concluded that 58% of all Internet sessions were conducted through Internet Explorer, Web developers and consultants in Silicon Alley say Navigator ranks as a popular, and in many cases the preferred, Web browser....
