The Clinton administration wants to slash Medicare again, costing New York hospitals and doctors $400 million over five years. But at a health care forum on Long Island last month, first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton said she opposes any additional reductions in Medicare payments to providers.
"She received a very warm reception," says Ray Sweeney, executive vice president of the Healthcare Association of New York State, a hospital lobbying group in Albany.
