Despite the roller-coaster ride of technology stocks, the business-school class of 2000 remains ready to jump into the electronic-business world, albeit with a heightened sense of caution. ``There's some worry, but certainly not a sense of panic,'' says David Turnbull, a second-year student at NYU's Stern School of Business and president of TANG, the school's technology and new media group.

Increasing turmoil in the tech sector since the beginning of the year had heralded the possibility of a more dramatic falloff, he notes. ``Everyone going into this industry felt this (correction) was coming and that volatility might be good if it shakes out some of the weaker Web businesses,'' says Mr. Turnbull.
