It's not going to be the same hearing james earl Jones' sonorous voice intone the greeting, ``Welcome to Verizon Communications.'' What was that you said, Darth Vader? Verrazano Communications? VeraCruz Communications? Vermicelli Communications? Unless you closely follow the telecom industry's vast mergers-and-acquisitions game these days, you have probably missed the fact that the new company formed out of the union of Bell Atlantic and GTE has picked the harsh and clumsy sounding Verizon as its new name.
