When San Francisco-based OpenTable.com Inc. decided to expand its geographical presence and broaden its marketplace, it set up shop in the heart of Manhattan. The restaurant reservation company opened offices here last fall to take advantage of the large number of businesses that could use its services, which range from providing eateries with electronic reservation books to allowing patrons to make reservations on-line.
