Wine reviews lack vinegar.(Wall Street Journal wine column)(Brief Article)

I like a good glass of wine as much as the next person, and I enjoy discovering new wines that aren't too hard on the budget. I'll even take suggestions from critics, as long as they don't exasperate me with grandiose discussions of a wine's ``nose.'' Still, much as I welcome straightforward, unpretentious advice, I am astonished (and aghast) at the extraordinary popularity of the corny wine column that The Wall Street Journal publishes as part of its Weekend section.
