Losing members Membership in the New York New Media Association is down 16% since the beginning of the year to 7,000, says Executive Director Alice O'Rourke. The No. 1 reason people give for not paying their dues is that they are unemployed. The initial membership fee to join NYNMA is $150; the annual renewal rate is $125.
``In 2000, our membership was growing by leaps,'' says Ms. O'Rourke. ``The people we lost are too insecure to pay their dues.''
