When I read the other day that the Prince of Wales is bringing out a line of menswear, it occurred to me Ralph Lauren and John Weitz don't have a thing to worry about. Most ready-made British tailoring is dreadful. You'd never catch Fred Astaire or Cary Grant or those chaps wearing it; American stuff is much better.
The only really fine London men's clothing comes from a handful of custom tailors in and around Savile Row. And those suits cost close to $2,000 and require three fittings.
