Miramax seeks partner for promotional vehicle; Steers `Hornet' deal past $35 million.(News)(Miramax Films automotive product placement deal )

Byline: richard linnett and wayne friedman Miramax Films is shopping the largest automotive product placement deal for a feature film, asking for more than $35 million from whichever automaker signs up to have its car star in the summer 2005 release The Green Hornet. The Manhattan-based movie company is looking for a partner before it has a screenplay or a director.

The Green Hornet will feature a sedan driven by the superhero's chauffeur and bodyguard, Cato. The car will be so prominently featured that it will essentially be a star in the film, says Lori Sale, executive vice president of worldwide promotions for Miramax Films, a Walt Disney Co. unit.
