Kerry seeks support at fund-raisers democratic presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry, who Friday turned down federal campaign funds, is stepping up his fund raising in New York. Mr. Kerry was scheduled to appear at a reception in the home of Joe Barron, fitness entrepreneur and founder of Definitions Gym, on Sunday evening, with a minimum contribution of $250.
That night, Mr. Kerry also collected contributions of at least $50 per head at O.W. Bar during a reception with Rep. Barney Frank, D-Massachusetts. Tuesday evening, Laurie Rothenberg, a partner at Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson, and Robin Chandler Duke, a retired U.S. ambassador, will host a "Women for Kerry'' reception, with former Massachusetts Gov.
