When fur-vault politics replace smoky backrooms.(Viewpoint)

Byline: James Brady The journalistic odd couple of the august Times and the breezy Post have somehow teamed up on a wonderful story: the adventures of Hillary Clinton and her new fur coat. On Christmas Eve, New York furrier Peter Duffy told the "boldface'' reporter at The Times that "he had just finished a mink for Hillary Rodham Clinton.'' The wackos at PETA, of course, went bananas.
Last Monday, Page Six of the Post took the story from there. Hil's staff reportedly called Duffy to demand, "Who spilled the beans?'' Then, well, maybe she ordered a velvet coat, not a mink. No, it was Hil's assistant who bought the mink. The furrier's wife, Marge, denied that Hillary had ever been in the store or had ever been billed. So Page Six phoned the Times reporter,...
