But the 46-year-old executive has joined Jamba as vice president of new market development precisely because the $210 million firm is everything Burger King is not.

"There was a lot of stress and pressure to produce sales at Burger King. The atmosphere is more fun at Jamba,'' says Mr. Blauer. "It's a growing company, and there's a sense of optimism.''
