Government Alert: Vying for field position on Jets stadium; Backers, opponents face off at DNC in Boston; prospect for state budget.(Government Alert)

The escalating battle over building a stadium on the far West Side of Manhattan traveled up I-95 last week to the Democratic convention. Cablevision paid for breakfast last Monday for the 500-plus New York delegation and its guests. Ken Sunshine and Marissa Shorenstein, two lobbyists representing the Jets football team, were also working the delegates, including Assemblyman Keith Wright, D-Harlem, chairman of the New York State Association of Black and Puerto Rican Legislators.
