Byline: From Business Insurance, a Crain publication A hotel company is making a bid to recover millions of dollars in losses related to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks for locations far removed from lower Manhattan. CDL Hotels (USA) Inc., a unit of London-based Millennium & Copthorne Hotels Plc, late last month filed suit in Manhattan federal court against Travelers Indemnity Co.

The suit charges Travelers with breaching its insurance contract by refusing to pay Sept. 11-related business interruption claims of Millennium hotels in New York, Boston, Boulder, Chicago, Los Angeles, Minneapolis and St. Louis.
