Two law firms win their case for space at MetLife Building; Sign new leases so they can grow; mattress showroom finds place to rest.(Real Estate)

Over the past year, more than 1 million square feet of office space have been leased in the MetLife Building, making existing tenants eager to seal deals of their own. Just this month, two law firms signed leases for a combined 185,000 square feet of offices in the trophy tower at 200 Park Ave.
Law firm Hunton & Williams, which moved to New York in the mid-1980s to counsel Philip Morris, signed a 15-year lease for 133,000 square feet of new office space. The firm is nearly doubling its size from the 69,000-square-foot office it currently occupies in the building. The Staubach Co. represented the firm.
