As part of last week's proposed buyout of Cablevision Systems Corp., Chief Executive James Dolan will head a publicly traded company that will own some of New York's crown jewels, including the two leading winter sports teams and their Madison Square Garden home, plus a handful of cable channels.
His father, Cablevision founder and Chairman Charles Dolan, will take the bulk of the Bethpage, L.I., cable company private in a $7.9 billion deal. For the younger Mr. Dolan, the deal means he can at last rule his own roost. But it also means the vast financial resources of the nation's sixth-largest cable...
