WEEK IN REVIEW: ABC mourns loss of Jennings.(Briefs)

Byline: from staff reports and bloomberg news reports ABC television news anchor Peter Jennings died Aug. 7, four months after disclosing that he had been diagnosed with lung cancer. Mr. Jennings, 67, was the last of the Big Three network anchors on the airwaves following the retirements of CBS's Dan Rather and NBC's Tom Brokaw.

He had been ABC's chief anchor for 22 years. ABC said last week that it was premature to publicly discuss possible on-air successors. Auto lessors return General Motors Corp., Ford Motor Co. and DaimlerChrysler AG are among more than 20 companies bringing their leasing operations back to New York state.
