Hudson Square emerging as Manhattan hot spot; Attracting media, entertainment tenants; Chase unloading on Park.(Real Estate)

Office leasing is bustling in Hudson Square, the area on the west side of Manhattan near SoHo and TriBeCa. The latest new tenant is Nature America, publisher of Nature magazine and other titles. Other recent big arrivals include film producers Bob and Harvey Weinstein, who relocated their post-Miramax production company from TriBeCa, as well as New York Sports Club and Bliss Spa.
Nature America is taking more than 52,000 square feet on the ninth floor of 1 Hudson Square, which is at 75 Varick St. between Canal and Watts streets; asking rents on the floor are about $33 a square foot. The company, a division of New York-based Holtzbrinck Publishing Group, is moving from a 40,000-square-foot office at 345 Park Avenue South, at East 25th Street. GVA Williams...
