Byline: staff reports and bloomberg news reports Billionaire financier Carl Icahn (above) raised his stake in ImClone Systems Inc. to 12.3% and said he has not decided whether to join its board of directors. The biotech firm asked Mr. Icahn to become a director after it ended its search for a buyer.
... Mr. Icahn bought 4.83 million shares in Time Warner Inc. during the second quarter, giving him 62 million shares, or a 1.5% stake; he had previously campaigned to take control of the media giant. Yankee stadium under way the new york yankees broke ground on their new $1 billion stadium after a state Supreme Court judge denied a motion for a temporary restraining order sought by opponents of the project. The 53,000-seat stadium is slated to open in 2009....
