Byline: from staff and bloomberg news reports NY court cuts school funds The New York state Court of Appeals, in a 4-to-2 ruling, ordered the Pataki administration to pay $1.93 billion to New York City public schools, billions less than the funding that had been sought in a landmark lawsuit filed by the Campaign for Fiscal Equity in 1993.
