Businesses' loss is unions' gain.(Viewpoint)

Byline: Alair Townsend Mayor michael bloomberg and City Council Speaker Christine Quinn are basking in praise from good-government groups about the campaign finance reform bill they have crafted. I'm not applauding. I think it would further enhance union power at the expense of business. That's unfair and unwise.
City law is already tough on businesses. It bans them from contributing to candidates in any local race. A loophole has allowed limited liability companies and limited liability partnerships to give, but the "reform'' bill would prohibit those contributions, as well.
