LP Oxo[SM] Selector low-pressure hydroformylation technology, offered cooperatively by Dow Technology Licensing, part of US chemical major Dow Chemical, and Davy Process Technology, part of UK-based Johnson Matthey, has been selected by Chinese diversified oil and petrochemicals group Lihuayi for a 250 000 tpa facility to be built in Dongying City, Shangdong province.

The plant, due onstream in 2010, will produce 140 000 tpa of 2-ethyl hexanol, 85 000 tpa of n-butanol and 24 400 tpa of iso-butanol.
