The European Commission has approved 67.6m [euro] funding granted at the end of 2007 by the French agency for innovation support (OSEO) for the Horizon Hydrogen Energy (H2E) innovation programme, which is coordinated by French gases major Air Liquide, and has 20 partner companies. The H2E programme, which represents an overall investment of nearly 200m [euro] over seven years, is designed to provide competitive and sustainable hydrogen energy solutions, including hydrogen production using renewable energy, hydrogen storage and the industrialisation of fuel cells.
It will also contribute to the establishment of a suitable regulatory framework.
