* Japanese company Asahi Kasei Chemicals won the ICIS best process innovation award for its sustainable approach to producing an aromatic polycarbonate. The process uses carbon dioxide, instead of carbon monoxide, and cuts out phosgene and methylene chloride to produce a polymer free from chlorine.
