Paul Westnedge has been appointed head the UK integrated resourcing solutions sector of Chiltern International. Westnedge is chairman of the Institute of Clinical Research's resourcing specialist interest group, which examines how to increase the number of people coming into clinical research. Ed Wallis, currently chairman of consulting engineers WS Atkins, has been appointed as chair of the UK Natural Environment Research Council, succeeding Rob Margetts on 1 January next year.

Meanwhile, Peter Ringrose has been re-appointed as chair of the UK Biotechnology & Biological Sciences Research Council. He will serve for a further two years after his appointment ends on 30 April 2007.
