Essar Chemicals, part of the Indian Essar Group, and French chemical company Arkema (Paris) are forming a 50:50 joint venture for the production of acrylic acid and esters downstream from the recently completed Essar refinery in Vadinar, Gujarat province, India. The world scale plant will come onstream in 2010.
