Using baby lotion, powder and shampoo can lead to higher concentrations of phthalates in infants' bodies, according to research published in Pediatrics (doi:10.1542/peds.2006-3766). Phthalates, which are commonly found in plastic toys, as well as cosmetics and personal care products, have been linked to allergies and damage to the reproductive system in animal studies.
