The 50/50 joint venture between Huntsman and the German subsidiary of South Africa's chemicals and energy concern Sasol plans to expand its maleic anhydride manufacturing capacity by 45 000t through joint funding from internal cash flow and non-recourse financing. The expansion will increase production capacity by 75% to 105 000t/year.
