DIOXIN STUDIES NEED PVC INDUSTRY BACKING.

The Vinyl Institute's study on dioxin is exactly the kind of research the PVC industry should support -- and processors will cheer. The report, delivered Aug. 10 to the Environmental Protection Agency, concludes that PVC manufacturing produces at most 1 percent of the toxin dioxin released into the environment.

Processors need this sort of data to answer customers' questions and concerns about PVC. VI knows that if there are any holes in its research, opponents like Greenpeace will discover them.
