SOUTH AFRICA'S NAMPAK BUYS U.K. MOLDER.

LONDON -- Nampak Ltd., Africa's biggest packaging company, is expanding in Europe with its planned cash acquisition of British plastic container molder Plysu plc for [pound]94.6 million ($158 million). Nampak of Johannesburg, South Africa, already owns blow molder BlowMocan Ltd. of Milton Keynes, England.

Adding Plysu will strengthen its United Kingdom base, from which it will snatch additional acquisitions in Europe, according to Chief Executive Officer Trevor Evans. ``This is not the end of the road, but just the beginning of the journey for us,'' he said in a telephone interview from London. ``With Plysu, the two companies have a turnover of more than [pound]200 million ($334 million).
