Mich. molder starts Home & Health unit.(Brief Article)

Cascade Engineering Inc. has created a new division to make components for air- and water-treatment systems, with an eye toward manufacturing the entire systems. The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based molder has bought four injection presses for its newly formed Home & Health business unit, which Cascade hopes will be a $6 million to $8 million business within three years, said Chris Lipka, business unit manager.
Its components will go into portable air- and water-cleaning systems, such as home air purifiers. "We feel we have some of the technology and expertise in our other units in Cascade and can leverage some technologies ... to these types of markets," Lipka said.
