Britton's installs new press as part of expansion process.(Brief Article)

BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND -- Custom injection molder Britton's Plastics Ltd., which was rescued from bankruptcy last year when its parent, Presbar Group, collapsed, has installed a new 3,500-ton Husky press as part of a 1 million ($1.5 million) expansion. "Investment in the Husky machine represents a watershed for Britton's.
It is the first new equipment we have had in 10 years," said managing director Mike Elms. Ultimately, the new machine will make bumper components for Honda's Civic model replacement, which is due to be launched later this year. The press began production in July, making large trash-collection bins. Birmingham-based Britton's already operates about 40 presses with 22-1,600 tons of clamping force.
