Wellcore acquires Concord, Keystone.(Brief Article)

Michigan custom injection molders Concord Plastics Corp. and Keystone Plastics Inc. came under common ownership and management June 11. Holding company Wellcore Corp. of Muskegon, Mich., acquired Concord of Muskegon in 1997 and added Keystone of Ada this month. Terms were not disclosed. Comerica Bank provided financing.
The processors, about 40 miles apart, operate independently as Wellcore subsidiaries reporting to Concord President Peter Ballantyne. Concord saw value in Keystone's two-shot molding, Ballantyne said in a telephone interview. ``Our strategy is to leverage multishot molding in both facilities,'' he said.
