CSI adding Milacron blow molding machine.(Brief Article)

Continental Southern Industries Inc. is expanding its proprietary product line with a new, large blow molding machine from Milacron Inc. Greenville, S.C.-based Continental can make 60-inch-wide panels on the T-2900 machine, despite its shot size of only 60 pounds. An extra-large platen, 74 by 98 inches, and special head tooling allow the firm to make parts normally molded by machines with more than three times that shot size, according to Continental molding manager Tom Osolinski.

Continental's main business is proprietary and mainly for waste and textile industries. Osolinski would not disclose what parts the new machine is molding, but said several new ones are ``on the drawing board,'' including custom parts. Osolinksi said Continental helped spur...
