Amcor PET expands in Europe.(News)(Amcor PET Packaging)

Byline: Richard Higgs In a bid to meet rapidly growing demand for barrier PET containers across Europe, Amcor PET Packaging, the world's top producer, is to invest more than 8 million euros ($7.9 million) to double its multilayer PET production capacity. Amcor PET Packaging Europe/Asia, based in Ratingen, Germany, intends to concentrate all its multilayer PET activities in Europe at site, its PET research and development center in Brecht, Belgium, beginning in March.
The move will involve switching its existing multilayer packaging production in Bierne, France, to the Brecht facility. In addition, Amcor is buying three new preform injection molding lines, plus blow molding equipment. Bierne will become Amcor's exclusive European plant for high-volume...
