Bemis Manufacturing expands.(News)(adds coinjection machine)(Brief Article)

Bemis Manufacturing Co. Inc. has added to its fleet of specialty injection molding presses with the purchase of a 2,500-ton coinjection machine from Milacron Inc. It joins six other coinjection presses - with clamping forces of 500-3,000 tons - at Bemis' Lenoir, N.C., facility, which produces parts for agricultural and large utility vehicles.
Sheboygan Falls-based Bemis has expanded the Lenoir plant to 182,000 square feet, up from 28,000 in 1999. It also has boosted employment to 180 from 60 in the same period. Bemis expects to add 10-12 jobs with the new press, Jim Chapman, director of southeast operations, said in a Nov. 13 telephone interview.
