Luminary Ray dies of cancer at age 60.(Obituary)(Obituary)

Longtime industry luminary R. Bruce Ray died Oct. 21 at his Alta Loma home of cancer at the age of 60. He had served as treasurer of the Society of the Plastics Industry Inc. from 1991-95 and president of SPI's Thermoforming Institute from 1993-96. The SPI Western Region presented its Man of the Year award to him in 1995.
Industry associates said Ray lived with a passion for life and respect and thoughtfulness for others. He had a bachelor's degree in business administration from California State Polytechnic University and earned a lifetime achievement award from the school's business college in 2000.
